![]() It's cleaner, more intuituve and more fun and satisfying to use in my opinion. I've been using beersmith for about a year and I tried a 30 day trial of beer tools recently. So that's where I'm at but am wondering if an investment in something like this will be a step in the right direction as the basement build comes together. I've also liked the portability aspect for being able to bring a recipe to the LHBS and get their two cents on what I wrote. But until this build began I've been hauling everything from the basement to the garage on brew day, so portability was crucial. It's been a couple years since this thread was active so I'm curious what different folks' experience is now? I have been using BeerSmith on my iPad exclusively and certainly like the portability of it. Kal just posted a great opportunity for a discount on BeerTools Pro: Member of the Arizona Society of HomebrewersĪlright, reviving an old thread. You can get a free 21 day trial at the BeerSmith website.īrad also posts videos weekly on YouTube with various special guests. I love BeerSmith - it's a great program and Brad (owner) is a super nice guy. I've tired Brewer's Friend, and it's very good, but I prefer the interface, inventory and some of the additional depth Beersmith provides. Beersmith also does cloud storage of the recipes, so moving to a different computer is no longer an issue. I was a calibration technician for a dozen years, so I'm uber geeky with the weights and measures. I feel it's a little more in depth, which I freely admit isn't strictly necessary. I also downloaded BeerSmith which seemed good, but i just stuck with Beer Tools Pro. At that point i was still using BrewAlchemy or something like that and Bobby's videos covered solutions to most of my gripes with Beer Tools Pro. I switched over to it a few years ago after watching some of Bobby_M's videos on YouTube where he explains how he uses it. ![]() Reduce Force When Parked simply lightens the wheel when the car is stopped. I find the Linear Mode feels more natural. Non-linear compresses the forces, raising the lighter ones to make them easier to feel on weaker wheels. Use Linear Mode toggles between Linear and Non-linear force feedback response. Max Force is more commonly used in iRacing discussions, and the only option in irFFB, so that is what I will use.Ĭounterintuitively, a higher Max Force value results in a weaker force feedback response. The result is the same, they are just two ways of displaying the same information. You can toggle between Strength or Max Force by clicking on the label. IRacing has two ways of displaying the force feedback strength. Every car in the game has a different feel, so the strength needs to be set individually for each one. The main force feedback option you have to worry about is setting the strength. When you first run iRacing, it will have you calibrate the wheel and pedals as well as assign the necessary buttons for shifting gears. Using the built-in iRacing force feedback is very simple. For an in-depth look as to why, see my BOOST Force Feedback Analysis. As a general rule, I leave these at 100% since there are some games that require them.īOOST should always be turned off. Spring and Damper are not used by iRacing, so can be set to any value without issue. IRacing automatically sets the proper steering angle for each car, so it is best to leave the rotation set to the maximum in the Thrustmaster Control Panel and calibrate the wheel in-game. Jump To: Thrustmaster Settings | iRacing Settings | irFFB + vJoy Installation | irFFB Settings | iRacing Force Feedback Details In this guide, I will talk about how to set up the built-in iRacing force feedback, how to install and use irFFB, and finally go into some detail about the force feedback system and some of the unique terminology it uses. It largely comes down to personal preference. These wheels tend to feel quite muted in iRacing, and the effects in irFFB can either help or make it worse, depending on the car. I find I can get used to the built-in force feedback just fine, but I generally prefer the feel of the cars with the added effects. The added information to the force feedback is often a distinct improvement, but some other times you can hardly feel the difference at all. Its usefulness depends heavily on the car you are driving and your personal preference. This can take some time to adjust to if you are coming from another simulator.Ī frequently recommended third-party utility called irFFB is able to add g-force, understeer and more suspension effects to the force feedback. Unlike many other simulators, iRacing's force feedback only delivers the actual forces felt through the steering rack of the car. While I expected it to have a complicated force feedback system, in actuality, it's very simple and easy to set up on the Thrustmaster TMX and T150. IRacing is widely regarded as the definitive online racing simulator. Aside from this law, building owners should also follow Australia’s building codes, known as the Australian Standards (AS), to ensure that their ramps and other safety features are within the legal regulations. However, building any type of ramp may not be enough to comply with the DDA. This includes adding properly constructed ramps in areas where there are steps, stairs, or kerbs. In line with this matter, the law requires owners of public buildings and establishments to ensure that these places can be easily and safely accessed by everyone. One of the areas covered by this law is a person’s right to access places that are open to the public, such as government offices, education institutions, shops, parks, and banks. In Australia, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) was passed and enacted to ensure that people are not discriminated against due to their disability. With handrails, they’ll be able to safely cross ramps without fear of slipping or falling. This can pose a hazard, especially for people who use mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walking canes, as it increases their risk of encountering accidents and serious injuries. Oftentimes, they can end up with slippery surfaces due to the accumulation of water and ice during the rainy and winter seasons. In addition, they help people with mobility issues maintain their balance and stability as they use the ramp.Īlso, outdoor ramps are exposed to the elements such as snow and rain. They act as support features that can prevent people from falling off the side of the ramp. Added SafetyĪs mentioned earlier, handrails offer additional safety to users. After all, in Australia, the ramps found on facilities and other places that are open to the public are required by law to have certain safety features such as handrails. Generally, they provide people with something to hold on to, which helps improve their balance and prevent them from slipping or falling as they cross the ramp.Īside from added safety, rails on wheelchair ramps are also essential for the owners of buildings and establishments. Handrails are regarded as essential features of accessibility ramps due to the various benefits they offer to users.
